The beauty of waste material

The beauty of waste material

Through a playful process of form, color and light, Jane creates spatial paintings and drawings.

Assemblages, reliefs and sculptures are made with simple materials separated from their usual functions and used in a painterly approach to create a complete image. Materials come from containers, DIY stores and cut-outs of her own paintings.

The materials used can imitate a drawing line or a strong brush stroke. Corrugated plastic and plexiglass are used as a transparent layer of paint, metal and plastic are bent to imitate lines and shapes from nature.

Each piece serves as a testament to the beauty found in the overlooked and the discarded, inviting viewers to reconsider the potential of the mundane.
