Expo Improvisé
A 1-day POUBELLE Art-project
Tetterode, Da Costakade 148, Amsterdam
The artists of POUBELLE worked with worthless materials found in the neighborhood in which they saw potential. It was important to play and improvise, perhaps to be amazed by the approach of the others and possibly response to their work. Using a minimal visual language, they transformed the found objects and materials into new, contemporary, and playful artworks.
POUBELLE artists are aware that beautiful raw materials can be found everywhere in the form of discarded objects and materials, and they resist the constant urge to buy new things.
At the end of the evening, the work was dismantled and returned to where it was found. In this way, they question the value of art.
Participating Artists:
Maria Timmermans, Jane Callaghan, Martin de Jong, Joanneke Meester, Ton Zwerver, Harm Hajonides, Jean-Philippe Paumier, Gertruud Dentjens, Ronald de Ceuster, HF van Steensel, Lisbeth Parisius and Mirjam Berloth.
