The beauty of waste material

The beauty of waste material

Anne-Will Lufting

Born in 1992, Emmen, NL

Inspired by the fundamental art of painting, Anne-Will Lufting conducts research into form, colour, size and material. After folding the sailcloth onto a frame, two carefully chosen colors are applied, which are sharply separated from each other. The capriciousness of the canvas challenges the perfection of the color areas and vice versa. The works seem to move between painting and sculpture. In her monochrome draperies of artificial leather, Anne-Will tries to eliminate the contradictions. These canvases further stretch the boundary between painting and sculpture.
