H.F. van Steensel is a constructor. H.F. constructs, and deconstructs in order to construct, with every kind of material that captures the eye. Used clothing and rags, pieces of abandoned wood, metal, plastic or foam. Daily Life images, moving objects, animals, plants and people. Colors, forms, words, sentences in different kinds of languages. As long as the outcome is fragile and solid at the same time. Seemingly negligible and not self-evident. And imperfect. Imperfect is perfect. To construct is a necessity. To get there.
