The beauty of waste material

Zo Gezien at WG Kunst

April 2026, WG Kunst Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

In 2022, WGKunst hosted the first exhibition titled POUBELLE – the beauty of waste material. This inspiring and meaningful experience marked the beginning of POUBELLE’s development as an artists’ platform.

Three and a half years later, POUBELLE returns to WGKunst to reflect on the platform’s evolution — both as a collective and through the individual practices of several affiliated artists. True to the spirit of POUBELLE, the exhibition brings together works created from found street objects, remnants of earlier artworks, and materials discovered elsewhere. Through abstract, playful, and exploratory approaches, these discarded elements are transformed into installations, assemblages, and objects that reveal new meanings and possibilities.

Participating artists:
AKMAR, Mirjam Berloth, Jane Callaghan, Martin de Jong, Jef Nollet, Lisbeth Parisius and HF van Steensel
